This position is for a mew subsidiary company gearing up to start operation to complement the existing operation of a joint-venture company and provide a complete and integrated supply chain system and solution to its current customers and the demands of the market. Reporting to the Chairman, the position will require the formulation of vision, mission, core values and goals of the company, developing strategic plans to advance the company’s mission and objectives and promote revenues, profitability and growth, acquisition of IT systems, developing policies and procedures, the company budget, recruitment of key managers, and making decisions on major purchases to start operations. Eventually, he will have full responsibility and oversight of the day-to-day operations, including planning, management, finance, human resources, marketing, general administration and P&L. The candidate should have at least 10 years experience managing companies at an executive or operating level, including logistics companies. He should have proven oversight of planning and finance, human resources, marketing, operations, and solid knowledge of supply chain management, cargo forwarding, receiving and handling, logistics, and express courier delivery systems. A bachelor’s degree is required as a minimum, experience working with company chairmen, able to handle stress, conflict and crisis situations, multi-tasker, and able to work in a fast-paced business setting and time-critical operations.

They have partnered with a major educational publishing house in the UK to produce high-quality books for learners of English in the Arab world. With education be made accessible to the mass consumer through ICT, they have also partnered with the pan-Arabic lifelong learning initiative providing online learning avenue for educational institutions in the Arab world. They need a Director of Business Development who is a member of the Senior Management Committee to formulate and implement business development, marketing and sales strategies to penetrate new markets in the Arab world. In terms of business, his goals are to facilitate the generation of year-on-year growth in sales in line with the strategic goal of hitting the SR 1 Bn mark in income by year 2015. He will research markets and products and services needed, and develop alliances, channels of distribution and marketing opportunities. To achieve the goal, he will roll out 3-year business development and marketing plans, communicate and win the engagement of all staff with the objectives, strategies and budgets to execute the plans, and embed these plans in the job objectives of key managers in the company. The position is open to marketing professionals who have been responsible for moving sales in the tune of SAR 3 Mn per annum of consumer goods, preferably related to education, office equipment and supplies, and computing equipment. The operations and maintenance services contracting division is a one of the core businesses of this major group of companies. While managing existing projects with keen eyes on P&L, the Executive Director will be identifying project opportunities to capture new customers and drive the business, and lead the preparation of winning bids containing value proposition of the company’s comprehensive O&M service capabilities to prospect customers. Once projects are acquired, he will be executing the terms of the contract on per project bases, develop implementation strategies, review operational reports to ensure profitability, and maintain strong relationship with customers. The candidate should already be holding the General Manager position of an O&M company whose projects’ aggregate contract value run in the Millions of Saudi Riyals. He must be adept at interpreting RFPs, leading the preparation of tenders, contract pricing, and developing and executing project implementation strategies. Bottom-line oriented, he ensures projects’ resources are maintained at adequate levels, reliable sources of skilled manpower are identified, and efficient financial systems and controls are in place. The ideal candidate would have an engineering degree in mechanics or electricals coupled with project management experience.
